Like several other titles from this label, I have listed the available date as 1988 it is likely that the disc production date of 1987 is incorrect, as it also appears on 1989 and 1990 artwork.
Whilst these two concerts had been available for a decade on the Audifön album The Beatles Live From Sam Houston Colosseum and all the subsequent copies this was the first time the had been copied to CD. With Bulldog's past history of pressinng vinyl rips the Audifön release may indeed be their source. This is of comparable quality to the vinyl release and in the circumstances I feel that it would probably at he the time held core status. Being not only easier to locate but with the number of variations and pirate copies of the Longer Player circulating at east you knew what you were getting.
In 1993 when Yellow Dog released the shows from a tape source on their Ultimate Live Collection Volume 1 and became the preferred source.
We have two very similar releases, and I have come to the conclusion that the French copy is likely to be of an earlier pressing. This is based upon a detailed review of the artwork which is somewhat sharper and that all 1989 and 1990 releases are from the Italian master.
If you are a label collector I would look for one of the latter pressing, as the Polydor pressing discs of this period have been known to get 'CD ROT' aka 'bronzing , where the aluminum reflective surface breaks down and after all isn't it about the music.
The Italian Pressing of Palais de Sports Paris was imported into Japan, and received an ANF label Obi and lyric sheet, I assume this to be true also of this release and would request any images to the usual address.
Bulldog also released a double LP and double Picture Disc editions in 1989 , the picture discs rarely become available and usually sell at premium prices.
