Whilst technically an upgrade of the Doctor's early release New Years Day, this new title was NOT a free upgrade. If you are lucky enough to see the December 2007 update you will see that here are literally dozens of free upgrades with replacement discs and artwork for many titles. This along with the new source the good Doctor decided that his would NOT be a free upgrade.

This disc has now been sourced, with the exception of one track from a set of coloured vinyl Deccagone singles and is more complete, than any other release to date and is likely to retain core status until a new source is located. It will be interesting to see if the Purple Chick up date their I Hope We Passed The Audition which previously included the Doctor's New Years day release with the missing segments off the Deccagone singles and bonus material

Liner Notes?

What makes this so different from the original “New Year’s Day” compilation? Well, 14 out of the 15 songs on this CD are sourced directly from the highly rated Deccagone 45 singles - widely considered to be not only the best sounding versions of these songs, but the most complete. I was fortunate enough to secure the complete seven record set of these colored-vinyl singles last year, in marvellous condition. Indeed, they sound better than any other versions of the songs I have ever heard – better even than Anthology. For those Beatle folks deeply into minute, these recordings are “complete” – meaning they have the fractions of seconds of extra “chatter” and studio noise “absent” from most other versions.
