Working with several esteemed producers, Macca veered from style to style looking for a direction. The result was a lot of music, much of it unheard previously, which is featured on this two-CD collection. |

An excellent collection of McCartney work from the 1980's including in slightly improved quality the "Press to Play Session" which has been available on several earlier titles including the hard to find Library title Pressed To Play and the Orange label releaseAlternate Press To Play . New to many is the January 1988 "Trevor Horn Compilation Tape" which was a sampler dated 21 January 1988 covering a collection of 'works in progress from 1984 to 1987. This tape first appeared on a very early Internet/collectors no label disc titled Return To Lindiana in January 2000 , however this excluded 'Peacock's' which is presented here for the first time here. It is nice to have it all in one location , unfortunately errors in the mastering of some early CDR's have once again been reported. For this reason and this reason alone , I would say look out a factory pressed version which have both been reported as being error free. It is a shame that yet again you have to choose between the music and exceptional packaging. A common error appears to be a drop out on the Left Hand Channel of Disc 1 Track 3 , another unconfirmed report mentions an errant note 9 seconds into Lindiana. Belmo's Beatleg News Incorrectly identifies this set as double CD rather than double CDR. In 2011 I came across an unreported variation with the discs stamped as Vigotone 190 and Vigotone 191 rather than 189 and 190. |
